Lights-out remote access for Intel Core vPro computers. On my Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger computer, I use the free OSXvnc 1.6.1 as a server and the free Chicken of the VNC 2.1b3 as a client. I can connect to UltraVNC just fine, but I can't use the bells and whistles like file transfer and chat.
OS X has a built in VNC (Screen Sharing) server, but it is a little known feature that it also has a built in VNC client. No additional software is necessary.
To setup the server go to Preferences->Sharing and check the “On” checkbox next to “Screen Sharing”. Make sure to only allow access to Administrators or a specific user/user group.
You should see your computer name on the Screen Sharing configuration screen.To connect to your computer from another one using VNC open Finder and press
⌘+k
. In the Server Address enter vnc://

Access your Mac is easier for OS X Tiger since it has built-in Apple Remote Desktop; however, you need to check LAN setting in VNC client otherwise the screen will hang, “Please wait, initial screen loading….”
The following is my step-by-step installations….:
1. In Mac, under System Preferences, click Sharing and enable Apple Remote Desktop.
2. Enable Apple Remote Desktop in Firewall

3. Check users who are allowed to access to your Mac, and create a password for screen login.
4. In UltraVNC Client in Windows, check LAN option in stead of Auto.

5. Enter the password that you created in Step 3.
